What’s explained
If you are confused between C3 cycle and C4 cycle then today we are going to differentiate. Let’s differentiate here within a minute within the C3 cycle and the C4 cycle. First comes the C3 cycle, also known as Melin Kelvin cycle. If we talk about C4, another name of C4 is hatch and slack pathway. If we talk about the first CO2 acceptor, ribolose one five bis phosphate is present inside C3. This is a five carbon molecule. If we talk about C4 cycle, the first carbon acceptor molecule here is phosphoenol pyvate. This is a three carbon containing molecule. Talking about the first stable product inside the C3 cycle, it is our phosphoglyceric acid. The first stable product within the C4 cycle is our oxaloacetic acid. A four carbon molecule. Talking about temperature, the temperature in C3 cycle remains between 20 to 25° Celsius. But if we talk about the C4 cycle, the temperature inside it remains between 30 to 40° Celsius. Talking about examples, which plants come in C3? Which plants come under C4? So examples of C3 plants are tomato and papaya. Examples of C4 plants are maize, sugarcane and sorghum.
